Antitoxins are not always genetically engineered, they do not contain modified bacterial exotoxin molecules, they do not utilize DNA strands that produces antigen. Antitoxins, also, does not contain a select antigenic components of a pathogen than whole cells or viruses.
Antitoxins are able to confer passive immunity.
