The Peloponnesian War reshaped the Greek world, in a sense. On an international note, Athens, which was thought to be the strongest city-state in Greece before the war began, was reduced to a state of near-complete subjection, and Sparta was established as the leading power of Greece. These events came to play a big role in how history works out, and changed the course of wars and power.
