"Dimensional analysis" is the primary way to make conversions between any units. Some have trouble because they fail to make it an important point to label units, but labeling units correctly makes tracking and making any conversion very simple...The process and thinking is that you want to cancel out units that you don't need in the solutions...

(198ft/s)(12in/ft)(2.54cm/in)(m/100cm)=60.3504m/s (and that is exact)

d=5s(60.3504m/s)=301.752m

ugh...assume that a meter equals 3.3 feet and do not round your answers???
really? These people are idiots when there is an exact conversion. What is the point of not rounding when you are using a horrible approximation? :D

(198ft/s)(m/3.3ft)=60m/s

d=5s(60m/s)=300m
