a = b - 2
a + b = 12
b = 7
a = 5
5 = 7 - 2
5 + 7 = 12

Hello there.

Question: One number is two less than another. Their sum is twelve. Find both numbers.

Answer: It would be 5 and 7:
5 + 7 = 12
7 - 5 = 2.
