In this problem we have two conditions, the fisrt one is:

A+S=8

so the number of tickest for adults (A) and the number of tickest for students (S) must be equal to 8

now the secon condition says that :

7.25A+5.50S=52.75

the total cost of the tickets must be equal to 52.75

So we solve the first equation for A so:

A=8-S

and we replace that in the secon equation so:

2.25(8-S)+5.50S=52.75

and we solve for S so:

undefined
