Speakers using the Ad Hominem fallacy attempt to divert attention from the real issue by attacking the person who presents the argument. When these people fail to find arguments to support their own claims and beat their opponent using them, they resort to attacking the opponent himself due to a lack of evidence to prove what they are saying is true. This fallacy is also known as "to or against the person," and can often be heard in debates.
