In such pre-hospital report, the emt would recognize that the blood pressure has been palpated if the nurse sees 178/p. This can mean that a patient may suffer from STAGE 2 HYPERTENSION, and STAGE 2 HYPERTENSION is when the readings are between 160/110 and 180/110. Hope this helps and I'm glad I could help.
