The total cost for a party with 25 guests is twice the cost of a party with 10 guests. if the cost of the party with n guests is twice the cost of a party with 25 guests, what is the value of n?

Let x be the cost per guest & let n be the number of guests:

Let C1 be the Cost of the party with 25 guests & C2 the Cost of the party with "n" guests.
C1 = 25.x
C2 = n x
But we know (given) that C2 = 2 C1
====> n x = 2(25x)
n x = 50 x & n=50
