Answer: A child is learning how it feels to move her mouth and make sounds. She is in the sensorimotor stage.

Explanation:

The sensorimotor stage is the stage in which a child is trying to understand and discover his or her environment and body. He or she does this by touching, sucking, seeing, feeling, tasting, smelling and sensing in order to learn new things about the environment and himself. This stage occurs from birth to 2 years. Thus, a child depends on his sense and physical abilities in order to understand the environment. The sensorimotor stage has six separate sub-stages which are: simple reflexes, primary circular reactions, secondary circular reactions, coordination of reactions, tertiary circular reactions, and early representational or symbolic thought.
