The mean can be calculated by adding all the summation of numbers and divide it by how many total numbers there are, such as shown below:
Add total allowances= $0(for 77 students) + $3 (for 55 students) + $5 (for 77 students) + $6 (for 33 students) + $8 (for 22 students)
Total allowances=$0+$3+$5+$6+$8 =$22
Total # of students = 77 + 55 + 77 + 33 +22 =264 students
Mean=Total allowances/total students
Mean=$22/264
Mean= $0.0833
