The surface area is the area of the five sides...
A=5*28+12*28+13*28+(5*12)/2+(5*12)/2
A=900 cm^2
The volume is the area of the end triangle times the length so:
V=28(5*12)/2
V=840 cm^3

To find the surface area of a prism, open the solid like a carton box and flatten it out to find all included geometric forms. To find the volume of a prism multiply the area of the base by height
