At a middle school, the long jump record is 4.5 meters. If 1 meter equals 3.3 feet, what is the schools long jump record in feet!

We solve this equation by multiplying the two numbers together.  This is because 1 meter =  3.3 feet, so 4.5 meters is equal to 4.5*3.3 equals 14.85 feet.
