Because the ratio is 7:1 it means that the total must be a multiple of (7+1)=8

Each part of the ratio is equal to:

72/8=9

Since E:A=7:1

Emily has 7*9=63 marbles and

Asif has 1*9=9 marbles...

1)) 72=7x+1x
72=8x
9=x
one child gets 7*9= 63 and the other 1*9= 9

2)) 52= 3x+10x
52=13x
4=x
one child gets 3*4=12 and the other 10*4=40
