If you wanted to enjoy longer periods of daylight in the summertime, would you head closer to the equator or farther from it? Why?

At tne equator, daylight is always 12 hours.
The further away from the equator, the length of daylight in summer increases, until at latitudes higher than the arctic circle it will be 24 hours at the summer solstice.
