Myths are story based on tradition with some factual evidence, or none at all. They are sacred tales that explain the world and man’s experience. Evidence of myths’ universality is how most of the same myths are found in almost every culture

A myth is like a story or tale, one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.
Evidence of myths’ universality is how most of the same myths are found in almost every culture. Same basic plot, just different details.
