Which equation does the graph below represent?

A coordinate grid is shown. The x axis values are from negative 10 to positive 10 in increments of 2 for each grid line, and the y axis values are from negative 5 to positive 5 in increments of 1 for each grid line. A line is shown passing through the ordered pairs negative 8, negative 4 and 0, 0 and 8, 4.

y = 2x

y = fraction 1 over 2x

y = fraction 1 over 2 + x

y = 2 + x

Slope of a line can be found using the equation (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

so we can take the points and use the eqaution
(y2-y1) (4-0)= 4
(x2-x1) (8-0)= 8
so the slope is equal to 4/8
4/8 simplifies to 1/2
so the slope is 1/2x

and because the ordered pair goes through the origin (0,0) it doesn't have a y intercept

so the slope is simply 1/2x

so your answer is B (y= fraction 1 over 2x)
