Read the excerpt from Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

Pick up your grim tool now

And let us see how you handle it.

Gladly, sir, I promise you,

Gawain said, stroking it.

The Green Knight takes his stand without lingering

And bends his head a little to show the skin.

He laid his long graceful locks across his crown,

Leaving the naked neck bare and ready.

Which statement best describes the Green Knight’s chivalric values?

A. He displays bravery in the face of danger.
B. He exhibits loyalty to fellow knights.
C. He shows a devoted faith in God.
D. He demonstrates the depth of his intellect.

I would have to say either A.
The reason I would choose A is because he is obviously willing to show his skin, without showing fear. It is bravery at its fullest.

I hope this helps and is correct!! Have a wonderful day (:

The correct option is A.

From the excerpt given above, it can be seen that Gawain had been ordered to behead the Green Knight. The Green Knight, without any form of delay, presented himself for the execution. He bent his head and moved all his hair to the front of his head leaving his neck bare for the executioner's ax. This act is a gallant show of bravery in the face of danger by the Green Knight.
