If the derivative of a function results in 3x - 4, then finding the primitive will give your function.

\int {(3x - 4})\, dx = (3x^(2))/(2) - 4x + C
Now, when x = -1,
y = (13)/(2)

Thus,
(13)/(2) = (3(-1)^(2))/(2) - 4(-1) + C

(13)/(2) = (3)/(2) + 4 + C

(13)/(2) = (11)/(2) + C

C = (2)/(2) = 1

Thus, our primitive becomes
(3x^(2))/(2) - 4x + 1
