\begin{gathered} \tan (x)+1=0 \\ \tan (x)+1-1=0-1 \\ \tan (x)=-1 \end{gathered}

If we graph:

y = tan(x)

and

y = -1

we get:

From the graph, in the range [0, 2π), there are 2 solutions:

\begin{gathered} x=(3\pi)/(4) \\ x=(7\pi)/(4) \end{gathered}
