Kim is reading a book with 380 pages. She read 20 pages each day until she reached Part 2 of the book. Part 2 of the book is 160 pages long. She uses the equation 380−20d=160380-20d=160 to represent the number of days, d, it took her to read Part 1. How many days did it take Kim to read Part 1 of the book? CLEAR SUBMIT 8 days 11 days

If you divide 380 by 20, you get 19. To check this, multiply 20 x 19 to see 380. Hope this helps :D

Answer:

It take 11 days to read the first part of the book.

Explanation:

As I can see the book has two parts, the total of the book is 380 pages and the second part is 160, so the pages of the first part of the book will be:

1part=380-160=220

From this we can see, that the first part will take:

(220)/(20)=11days

The first part will take 11 days.

Now from the equation proposed in the argument, we can see that we can calculate also the days that the first part took:

380-20d=160

Clearing it:

380-160=20d\\d=(380-160)/(20)\\ d=(220)/(20)\\ d=11\\

It take 11 days to read the first part of the book.
