Silicate minerals are the most common of Earth's minerals and include quartz,feldspar, mica, amphibole, pyroxene, and olivine. Silica tetrahedra, made up ofsilicon and oxygen, form chains, sheets, and frameworks, and bond with other cations to form silicate minerals.
