a. No. Because absolute value means that whatever the value is it is positive, both numbers will be positive but the numbers are wrong So, 4.9 (average) - 4.6 (Tony) = 3 inches. 4.9 (average) - 4.11 (Jenny) = 2 inches.

b. Allison, Jenny, William, Tony, Emma

c. When you subtract each student's height from the average and take the absolute value you get: Allison (7), Emma (6), Tony (3), Jenny (2), and William (0).

Hope that helps
