2a -5b=1
3a+5b=14
------------------add
5a = 15
a = 3

2a -5b=1
2(3) -5b=1
5b = 5
b = 1

Answer:

Ordered pair: (3,1)

Explanation:

Given: System of equation

2a - 5b = 1 and 3a + 5b = 14

Using elimination method.

In this method, we make same coefficient of any one variable and cancel it.

2a - 5b = 1

3a + 5b = 14

We make coefficient of a same.

2a - 5b = 1 ( Multiply by 3)

6a - 15b = 3

3a + 5b = 14 (Multiply by -2)

-6a - 10b = -28

Add both equation

6a - 15b = 3

-6a - 10b = -28

-25b = -25

b = 1

Put b=1 into 2a - 5b = 1

2a - 5(1) = 1

2a = 6

a = 3

Solution: a=3 and b=1

Ordered pair: (3,1)

Hence, The Ordered pair (3,1) is a solution to the given system of equation.
