If we take the angle 60° as the angle from the ground to the beam and let x be the distance from the base of the billboard to the bottom of the brace, the trigonometric equation which would best represent the scenario is,
x = (20 ft) (cos 60°)
x = 10 ft
Thus, the distance from the base of the billboard to the bottom end of the brace is 10 ft.
