Solution

For this case we have the following function:

y=(x+2)^2+6

We can expand the terms and we have:

y= x^2 +4x+4 +6 = x^2 +4x+10

And then we can find the equation for the axis of symettry with:

y=-(b)/(2a)

a= 1, b= 4 then

y=-(4)/(2\cdot1)=-2

Then the answer for this case is:

y= -2
