Civil rights movements successfully got rid of de jure segregation or the law on segregating people according to their race. They made different protests to make it happen. The movement was not only involved in the struggle of emancipating African American people but all kinds of civil rights issues. This was not an easy task, but the civil rights movements earned the success through involvement and by having the attention of the international community, which favored their situation.
