k/4 - 1 = 13

Add 1 to both sides of the equal sign so that we could isolate K.

k/4 = 13 + 1

Simplify :-)

k/4 = 14

Multiply both sides of the equation by 4 so that K is all by itself! :-)

k = 56

Check your answer! :-)

To do so, all you gotta do is plug in 56 for K in the original equation.

k/4 - 1 = 13

(56)/4 - 1 = 13

Simplify the equation :-)

14 - 1 = 13

13 = 13

SO YOUR ANSWER IS K = 56
