The price of an item yesterday was

. Today, the price rose to

so first subtract 216 from 135 this would give you $81. then divide 81 from 135 this will give you 0.6 time 100 which equals 60%.

Equation = 216-135=$81
=81/135= 0.6
0.6 times 100= 60%
