7/6 - (-2/9)

When multiplying a negative by a negative, you always get a positive, so our new problem looks like this :

7/6 + 2/9

Make 18 the denominator by multiplying 7/6 by 3/3 and 2/9 by 2/2.

(7)/(6) +
(3)/(3) =
(21)/(18)

(2)/(9) +
(2)/(2) =
(4)/(18)

NEW PROBLEM :
(21)/(18) +
(4)/(18) =
(25)/(18)

That simplified is : 1
(7)/(18)

:-)
