Answer: C. ludicrous.

In the early 1960s, although most people at NASA could envision a man walking on the moon, most common people still believed it to be ludicrous. Technology did not seem to be developed enough, and the dream appeared unlikely to be fulfilled. However, by July 1969, Apollo 11 had already landed the first people on the moon: Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
