A group of people in a city determines that the equation y=11.984x+15.341 models the total number of shorts they will sell each day, where x is the days high temperature in Fahrenheit.
What does the slope of the equation represent in context of the situation?

B. if you round 11.984 to the nearest whole number, that would be 12
if x represents the temperature, that means for every degree the temperature increases, 12 more pairs of shorts will be sold

The correct answer here is B. The unit rate of the equation is approximately 12. So for every unit increase in x, the y increases by approximately 12.
