Fifty students are trying to raise at least $12,500 for a class trip. they have already raised $1,250. how much should each student raise, in order to meet the goal? write and solve the two-step inequality for this problem.

Begin by subtracting the amount that they already have made from the total needed, making: 12,500−1,0250=11,250.

So, the amount needed to raise more is $11,250, and we have 50 students. To make the amount needed for the trip, divide the amount needed by each student, for the amount needed to raise by each student. 1125050=225

Each student must make $225 for the trip to happen.
