Knowing the shaded area covers an area of 6 squares we can deduct one square has an area 0f 16 cm²

BA=96cm²

96cm²/ number of squares(6) = 16 cm²

Knowing the area of the square we can deduce the square side lenght is 4
because a square's area is the square of the side lenght

side=√area= √16cm²= 4 cm

When we look at the height of the prism we can see it is made up of 3 squares. Thus the height is 12cm as 3 squares stacked would have a height of 12cm.

h=12 cm

WIth the formula for the volume of any prism Volume= BA(h) we can calculate the volume

V=BA(h)
= 96(12) cm³
= 1,152 cm³
