Two math classes took the same quiz. The scores of 10 randomly selected students from each class are listed below.

Sample A: 75, 80, 60, 90, 85, 70, 90, 70, 65

Given:

Sample A: 75, 80, 60, 90, 85, 70, 90, 70, 65
Sample B: 95, 90, 85, 90, 100, 75, 90, 85

Analyze the given samples, to determine the mean and median of each sample set, use this formula:

For mean:

Sample A (mean) = (75+80+60+90+85+70+90+70+65)/ 9
Sample A (mean) = 76.11

Sample B (mean) = (95+90+85+90+100+75+90+85)/8\
Sample B (mean) = 88.75

To determine the median, arrange the data from smallest to highest:

Sample A: 60 65 70 70 75 80 85 90 90

The median is:

n/2 = 9/2 = 4.5; the median is the average of the 4th and 5th term:

70 + 75 / 2 = 72.5

Sample B: 75 85 85 90 90 90 95 100

The median is the

8/2 = 4th term

Therefore, the median is 90.
