4x+11 = x+2 ... i got 2.4 not sure what i did wrong.

First you subtract x from both sides to get 3x+11=2. Then you subtract 11 from both sides to get 3x=-9. Then you divide by 3 to get -3.

4x + 11 = x + 2

4x - x = 2 - 11
3x = -9
x = -3
