Patricia built a shelf to hold her trophies. The shelf can support a maximum of 15 lbs, and her trophies weigh 1.25 lbs each.
How many trophies can Patricia place on her shelf?

It takes Carlos 4/5 of an hour to paint a room.
Which expression represents the number of hours, h , it will take Carlos to paint 7 rooms? (PART 1)
CHOICES:
1. 7 dived by 4/5
2. 7h divided by 4/5
3. 4/5 x 7
4. h x 4/5 x 7
Carlos earns $13.50 per hour as a painter.
How much money will Carlos earn if he paints 9 rooms? (PART 2)

1)

15/1.25=12 so the shelf will hold 12 trophies

2)

r(h)=4h/5 so to paint 7 rooms...

7=4h/5

35=4h

h=35/4

h=8.75 hours

so of the choices it's 7 divided by 4/5

3)

r(h)=4h/5 and now we want to paint 9 room so

9=4h/5

45=4h

h=45/4

h=11.25

and since earns 13.5 an hour he will earn:

11.25h($13.5/h)=$151.875 so you'd probably round up to $151.88 (to nearest cent)
