A number elevated to the third power is the same as multiplying the number by itself 3 times:

4^3=4\cdot4\cdot4

Multiply the first two fours and then multiply the result by the third four

4\cdot4\cdot4=16\cdot4=64

So the value of 4 to the third power is equal to 64

4^3=64
