Describe in your own words, in terms of particle movement in energy, what occurs when a liquid is cooled to it's freezing point?

Well if liquid is cooled to its freezing point then it will be likely to freeze.  Or at least get a thin layer of ice on top of it.

The particles slow down until they eventually stop moving. Once they stop moving, the object freezes. I hope this helps. :)
