Islam's focus on the study of the qur'an promoted a high level of "literacy" both men and women.
The Holy Quran is fountain head of whole learning. The Qur'an is viewed as a unique disclosure from Allah to Prophet Muhammad. It was uncovered to him in Arabic. The Qur'an is along these lines not the same as some other book for Muslims since it contains the expressions of Allah.
In 611 CE the Prophet Muhammad was thinking in a surrender when the Angel Jibril appeared to him. All learning starts from the Holy Quran. This is the fundamental truth of Islamic convention of learning.
