If this is a true or false question, then the answer is true. In some European countries during the colonial period was losing money, they used Africa to buy their way out of shortage. Oil, rubber, palm oil, wood, cotton, gum and other raw materials were acquired from Africa by the Europeans.

European imperialism in Africa made a great impact on its economy. Slavery helped them to achieve their industrial and agricultural production. The vast natural resources of Africa provided for their expansion and riches that they had. This was more important to the ruling class.
