It destroys security and peace in the community. Imagine living in a place where crimes are high, you can't even sleep because of the lack of security there is in the community. People would always fight because they get to lose the balance in their families fearing that their son or daughter can get involved in crimes.
Families are important to communities they should be protected, they would be the one's who get directly be affected by crimes. If these families get troubled it would be the problem of the whole community.
