If you start with -10 degrees and go up 1 degree for seven hours just add 7 to -10 to get -3 degrees after seven hours. Then since the temperature drops 2 degrees for three hours just subtract 2 three times (OR multiple 2x3=6.) and subtract that for -3.
You should get -9 degrees after ten hours
