The given function sin x=0.5 represents a standard triangle which is same with sin x =1/2.
Where using SOH, we can get the value of the opposite leg which is O=1 and the hypotenuse is equal to H=2. Therefore, the adjacent leg is equal to A=√3.
Solving for cos x, we can use CAH and the result is shown below:
cos x = √3/2
The answer is cos x = √3 / 2.
