The heat energy lost is directly related to the shape of the object.
Explanation;
Heat energy is the thermal energy which is in motion or capable of moving. Heat flows involves transfer of thermal energy from higher temperature to lower temperature.
Heat energy or thermal energy depends on the mass and temperature of an object.
That is, it will take more energy to heat a larger pot of water to boiling as compared to a smaller pot.
Similarly,
the heat loss by the two aluminium metals of equal mass at the same temperature 400 degrees to the same lower temperature of 100 degrees Celsius will be the same as it does not depend on the shape of the aluminium pieces.
