How did the homestead act entice people to move west?

Many people moved west thinking they would make a new beginning settling the western area of our country. The land was cheep as well, due to the Indians being driven out of the area, and they needed settlers to develop new colonies.

Hope this helps!

They offered a lot of land for a small price to entice people to move west.
