Fold the paper in half two times open the paper.

Now there are 4 equal parts each part is 1/4 of the paper
So each side is 1/4
Looking at the shaded parts 1/2= /4  ( I did this problem but when I got to this part my answer was 1/2=2/4 is this the right answer

Yes 2/4 is 1/2 because if you have a pie and you cut it in four pieces then you eat to you only got two pieces left so there you only have half a pie left.
