Given the lengths of the sides of the triangle and the angle in between them, we determine the area of the triangle by the equation,
A = 0.5ab(cos C)
Substituting,
A = 0.5(100 yd)(53.2 yd)(cos 40°)
A = 2037.68 yd²
Thus, the area of the pocket park with the given dimensions is approximately 2037.68 yd².
