The measure of the pH of the acidic solution that results is given by: pH = -log (H3O+) What is the pH of a 0.057M HBr aqueous solution that completely dissociates in water? Note: Please give your answer to two decimal places. This will be correct with respect to significant digits and logarithms and the molarity you are given.

Assuming that the acid dissociates into ions completely, therefore the components in the solution are water, H+ and Br-. There is 1:1 ratio with HBr and H+ ion so the concentration of H+ is 0.057 M as well.

pH = -log (0.057) = 1.24

Hope this answers the question.
