To find the mean[average] we have to add all the numbers together, than divide by the amount of number in the data set.

To find the MAD [mean absolute deviation] we have to:

1 - Find the mean of the data

Mean: 151

2 - Subtract the mean from each number in the data set, and find the absolute value.

135 - 151 = |16| = 16

160 - 151 = |9| = 9

145 - 151 = |-6| = 6

155 - 151 = |4| = 4

170 - 151 = |19| = 19

150 - 151 = |-1| = 1

142 - 151 = |-9| = 9

Step 3 - Find the mean of the new data set.

MAD: 9.1
