When a person votes in an election using a ballot obtained from his county election officer either in person, beforehand, or by mail is called: Absentee Ballot.

It occurs when the voter is unable or unwilling to go to the polling station which the voter is allocated.

There are many methods attributed to Absentee Ballot, including: Voting at a different polling station, Postal Voting, Proxy Voting and Internet Voting.
